Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing complementary therapy used to release tension, increase energy levels and treat a wide range of modern health problems.

With its roots in oriental medicine, Shiatsu provides a unique blend of acupressure (finger or thumb pressure), gentle stretches and massage techniques to work into the muscles and joints.

In the same way as acupuncture Shiatsu treats the pressure points in our bodies in order to get our energy flowing and balanced. Instead of needles the Shiatsu practitioner uses finger or thumb pressure. Shiatsu treatments are carried out fully clothed, working on a massage table.

Shiatsu treats the whole body and can be effective with many common health problems:

  • Stress and tension
  • Insomnia, fatigue and ME
  • Back neck and shoulder problems
  • Joint and muscle problems
  • High blood pressure
  • Menstrual and menopausal problems
  • Asthma, sinus and respiratory problems
  • Digestive complaints such as IBS
  • Depression and anxiety
