Allergy Testing

The body has many ways of reacting to a certain food or substance. It is important to understand if this is a result of food allergy, food intolerance or environmental substance.

The body can have an adverse reaction to a specific food and it is the reaction of the immune system to this food which can cause more serious problems. A food allergy symptom is often more immediate after consumption or exposure than a food intolerance, which can develop several hours or even days after.

Symptoms often caused by a food allergy can include diarrhoea, rashes, vomiting, respiratory problems, generalised swelling, stomach ache etc.

Food intolerances can be caused by something as simple as eating too much of a particular group of foods over a period of time. Many people with a food intolerance are often unaware that their symptoms are food or environmentally related. Symptoms can range from feeling bloated and lethargic as well as suffering from issues such as bowel problems, skin and joint problems, headaches, weight issues or just feeling under par.

Allergy Testing

If you are suffering with a food intolerance it may be resolved simply by identifying and eliminating a group of foods or preservatives from your diet for a short period of time, after which they can be re-introduced on a more moderate basis.

A simple test can measure changes in your body’s energy field which may show an intolerance to foods that you could be sensitive to.

What is Involved?

  1. You will be asked to complete a confidential and very straightforward fact sheet about health and general well being.
  2. You will be tested for intolerance to many common foods/substances. A number of other causes of sensitivity are also tested such as house dust mites, pollen and feathers. You will also be checked for vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
  3. Advice will be given about substitute foods where an intolerance has been found. You will also be given information about which foods to eat to increase your intake of vitamins where necessary.
  4. You will be given results to take away showing the foods that you have been tested for and any intolerances or deficiencies you may have.

The test will take about 45 minutes. It will help to establish which foods might need to be omitted or reduced from your diet for a short period of time.

Please note this is NOT a medical test.

How it Works?

Testing for a person’s sensitivity or intolerance to a specific substance can be done by using a “Vega Testing” machine.

Vega testing is an alternative method of testing for food and chemical sensitivity. The small machine that we use in the test is very sensitive and can even select foods which are just minor irritants to you. It is quick, simple and non-invasive. The machine measures resistance as a disorder control. In other words it listens to your body.

By putting the body in contact with substances where there may be sensitivity, small changes can be detected by the Vega machine in the body’s energy field. If changes are detected it may mean that you have a sensitivity or intolerance to that food or chemical.
